U14 Boys Nationals
Background
In 2011, the Australian U15 Regional Championships were introduced by Softball Australia onto the events calendar. The Championships were introduced to provide players, coaches, umpires and statisticians with an opportunity to begin their journey in the national pathway and further develop their skills.
Point of Interest
In 2020, the WBSC changed the age bracket of the Junior World Cups from U19 to U18. This led to Softball Australia changing its National Championship age groups. In that same year, a change to Softball Australia’s Regulations saw entries for the Regional Championship permitted only from Member States, leading to a name change for the event to the U14 National Championships.
Today
The U14 Championships were not held in 2021 due to COVID-19, however in 2020 a total of 8 male teams made the trip to Blacktown in NSW. The increased competition allows this event to be a platform of development for future stars.
