Under 18 Women’s World Cup 2024 Team Announcement
Published Thu 28 Mar 2024
Softball Australia is pleased to announce the players named in the U-18 Women’s team to contest the WBSC U-18 Women’s World Cup Group Stage in Dallas beginning in August.
Players were selected from the U-19 Women’s Squad, with selectors having had close eyes on each player at the U-18 National Championships in January and the recent development camp in Sydney at the Chinese Taipei series, training alongside the Aussie Spirit team.
Head Coach, Leigh Godfrey was thrilled for the team named, “It’s an exciting time for the Junior Spirit and the athletes involved in this team. I’m excited to see what this team and staff can achieve internationally. I trust the athletes and staff will enjoy the journey over the next 5 months.”
The team will be supported to prepare for the tournament by coaches in their home state and by the U-19 coaches collectively, using a blend of face-to-face coaching, video analysis and regular online connection.
The team will come together in early July, as an invitational team to the Softball NSW International Cup, before flying to Dallas for final preparations ahead of the World Cup, which takes place 29 August 2024 – 2 September 2024.
