Softball Australia Announces it's U23-Men's Team for WBSC Oceania World Cup Qualifier

Softball Australia is proud to announce the U-23 Men’s National Team set to travel to Palmerston North, New Zealand, to compete in the 2025 WBSC Oceania World Cup Qualifiers from April 4-6, 2025. This highly anticipated series against New Zealand marks the first step in Australia’s U-23 Men’s Softball World Championship title defence, as the team aims to secure qualification for the 2026 WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup Finals.
The qualifier presents a crucial opportunity for the team, bringing together a strong mix of experienced players and emerging talent. Competing on the international stage will provide these athletes with invaluable exposure to high-level competition, sharpening their skills and preparing them for the challenges ahead.
With a rich history of success in men’s softball, Australia remains committed to developing elite-level athletes and maintaining its strong global presence. This tournament serves not only as a pathway to the World Cup but also as a chance for these athletes to represent their country with pride, showcase their talent against world-class opposition, and uphold Australia’s legacy of excellence in international softball.

Team Officials
Supporting the U-23 Men’s National Team for the WBSC Oceania Qualifier will be an experienced group of coaches and support staff, dedicated to ensuring the team is well-prepared for international success. Scott Sunley (QLD) will lead the team as Head Coach, joined by Assistant Coaches Steven Macknak (WA) and Josh McGovern (ACT), and Team Manager Andrea Mansfield (VIC).
Softball Australia is also pleased to confirm the coaching staff for the U-18 Men’s National Team, who will be preparing for their own international campaign alongside the U-23 Men’s Team in New Zealand. Adam Rindfleish (NSW) will lead the U-18 squad as Head Coach, supported by Assistant Coaches Callum Beashel (NSW) and Jayke Reynolds (QLD), with Lesley Darby (NSW) serving as Team Manager.
Joining the tour will also be Team Physiotherapist Harry Pearce (QLD), providing crucial athlete care and injury management. Softball Australia congratulates all selected athletes and officials acknowledging the dedication and hard work they have put into their development. With the 2026 WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup in sight, this is an exciting time for Australian softball, and we look forward to following the journey of both squads in the years ahead.
