Softball Australia is proud to release the five-year Strategic Plan for our sport, focusing on our shared vision for inclusion, fun, excellence and growth in Australia’s competitive sporting landscape.

Chair of the Softball Australia Board, Richard Lindell, says “It has been wonderful to see members from every part of our sport collaborate to produce a framework for future and sustained success of Softball in Australia. The plan sets a platform for growth and increased participation in all forms of Softball, as well as excellence in High Performance in preparation for future World Cups and Olympic Games.”

Softball Australia Chief Executive Officer Rosie Williams OBE noted the collaboration between Softball Australia and its stakeholders in the formation of the Plan, saying “Thanks to everyone who has been involved in the consultations. We have heard from State and Territory leadership, representatives from a players group, officials and coaches, umpires and more, in preparing the Plan. We have set some aspirational targets that we hope everyone from can work together to deliver.”

A sixteen-page Operational Plan to support the Strategic Plan has been developed by Softball Australia team members, and informed by stakeholders including Member State bodies, Softball Australia board members and through several public consultation sessions. The Operational Plan has been provided to Member State bodies, Softball Australia team members and Australia's national sport governing bodies.

The key priorities for the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan are:

Promote: To grow participation and audiences and develop new revenue streams to build the long-term sustainability of softball in our region.

Play: To make it fun and easier to participate on and off the diamond.

People: To develop capability and skills so that everybody in our Softball community can reach their potential.

Perform: To develop world class athletes and systems for sustained success on the global stage.

The Softball Australia Values are:

Respect: Honesty, integrity and fairness guide the way we play, coach and win.
