Softball Australia recipient of Play Well Participation Grant from the Australian Sports Commission

Published Tue 21 May 2024

Softball Australia has today been announced as a recipient of the Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC), ‘Play Well’ Participation Grant to engage and connect the sport to those who face the greatest cultural barriers in the community.

The ‘Play Well’ Participation Grants is one of the first initiatives to be delivered from Play Well - Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy. The strategy is designed to change the way participation in sport is connected, delivered and supported across Australian communities, to ensure everyone has a place in sport.

Softball Australia CEO, Sarah Loh thanked the ASC for recognising the part that softball plays in bringing communities together saying, "We're delighted with the result of our grant application as it closely aligns with our strategic focus and investment in grassroots participation for all. We've been working hard to position Softball for this opportunity to build a more inclusive Australia and that effort is starting to bear fruit. I can't wait for our softball community to hear more about what we're doing - in partnership with the ASC - to promote and grow our wonderful sport."

More information about Softball Australia's ‘Play Well’ program will be released in due course. For more information about Softball Australia and its dedication to building more inclusive communities, head to the Softball Australia website: softball.org.au
