Published Tue 14 Jun 2022

Softball Australia would like to acknowledge and congratulate Elaine Duyvestyn and Dr Deidre Anderson on their Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The Queen's Birthday Honours list awards meritorious, distinguished and conspicuous service.

Elaine was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the general division of the Queen’s Birthday honours list, and is one of the longest serving administrators in Victorian softball.

Her involvement in softball began as a player at Fawkner Park in 1968, but she has been a regular administrator for the Melbourne Softball Association since 1982, and has also held administration positions with the Victorian Softball Association/Women's Amateur Softball Council of Victoria, the forerunner to Softball Victoria.

Dr Anderson has been the Athlete Well-Being and Engagement Manager for the Aussie Spirit since 2018, and travelled with the Australian Olympic Softball Team during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Softball Australia congratulates Elaine and Deidre on their awards.
