Published Tue 17 May 2022

Softball Australia is proud to announce the next induction to the Australian Softball Hall of Fame, Scott Rindfleish.

Scott’s involvement with softball in Australia spans more than 26 years.

Beginning his umpiring career at age 14, Scott set out to disprove the idea that you don’t become a good umpire until you turn 40.

By age 28, he achieved his level 6 umpiring accreditation, ISF accreditation, and Australian level 8 accreditation, and before his 40th birthday, Scott has umpired in 26 International events, including four World Championships and two World Championship Qualifiers.

From 1999-2020, Scott was also involved in 37 National Championships, including 18 Open Men and Women events. During his involvement at National Championships, Scott also held management positions as Tournament Chief Umpire and Assessor/Examiner.

Scott has held umpire leadership and administration positions since 2005, including the NSW State Director of Umpiring, and he has been awarded 14 major awards, including the Softball Australia Service Award, Softball Australia Umpire of the Year, NSW Umpire of the Year on six occasions, and NSW State Directors Award for Service to Umpiring on another three occasions.

Scott brings exceptional levels of professionalism and dignity to any position he holds, both on and off the field, earning high levels of respect from members across all areas of Softball.

Softball Australia thanks Scott for everything he has done for the sport, and we look forward to seeing him continue his outstanding career when he is back on the diamond.
