Performance Training Camps now underway in SA, NSW, WA, and QLD

Softball Australia Performance Training Camps are now up and running in South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia, and Queensland.
In May this year, Softball Australia announced the launch of six national Performance Training Centres (PTCs), to be run in conjunction with Softball States and Territories.
The PTCs are aimed at identifying and developing emerging Australian softballers across the country, and preparing them for upcoming domestic or international events in 2023.
PTC programs run for 19-21 weeks, with athletes engaged in weekly face-to-face training sessions that cover athlete fitness, skill, and performance training.
South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia, and Queensland have all now launched their programs, with Olympians Leigh Godfrey and Bel White among the coaches delivering sessions in WA and SA respectively.
Aussie Spirit head coach and Softball Australia Hall of Famer Laing Harrow said, “The feedback from the coaches so far has been very positive across the board.
“The athletes have some of the most elite coaches around them, which provides them with many benefits, including understanding what’s necessary to get to high level softball and creating a sense of competitiveness.
“We also have new athletes involved in these programs which is very exciting in terms of pathways perspectives”.
Harrow recently visited the PTC in Queensland and said it was a great environment to be in.
“Hopefully we will see some benefits later this year and at the 2023 January Nationals from the training involved in these intensive camps across Australia”.
It is anticipated other States and Territories will launch their PTCs early in the new year.
