National Umpire in Chief (Development) Appointment

Softball Australia and the National Umpiring Committee would like announce that James English (NSW) has been appointed to the position of National Umpire in Chief - Development.

With a wealth of softball knowledge and his most recent appointments to Open Men’s and U18 Women’s Oceania World Cup Qualifier and International Canada Cup in 2023, James will provide first hand understanding of the international scene and will be able to provide great insight into the new world of softball umpiring.

James will commence working with Debbie Grove to complete a hand over of all things Development.

The NUC Executive would like to thank Debbie Grove for her outstanding work in the Development portfolio and the support and guidance she has provided the Executive and program for many years.

Applications for National Staff positions to support James in Development will be released early next week.

Congratulations once again to James on his appointment and thank you to Debbie for her many many years of work.
