With the recent announcement of Nacho Pardo as WBSC Director of Umpires, Softball Australia would like to extend our congratulations to NUIC - Technical and Elect - WBSC Leigh Evans on his appointment as WBSC Oceania – Umpiring Director.

Leigh has been a pivotal member of Softball Australia's National Program for over 20 years, holding the NUIC - Technical position (equivalent) since 2008, countless National Championships TCU and Assessor roles and has provided guidance and leadership to so many Australian umpires.

As WBSC Oceania – Umpiring Director, Leigh will now be the Oceania representative on the newly formed WBSC Umpiring Commission. Leigh will provide knowledge, guidance and leadership to umpires within the Oceania region and be involved in the future of umpiring around the world, Oceania and Australia.

The National program looks forward to the continued support that Leigh already provides and the insight and guidance directly from WBSC.
