Kuzminski and Kurihara step up for Australia
Published Tue 07 Jun 2022
Olivia Kuzminski and Moe Kurihara have answered the call to represent their country following a change to the teams that will tour the Canada Cup later this month.
Kuzminski has been elevated from the Spirit Development side and will earn her debut Aussie Spirit cap at the Canada Cup.
The West Australian will also stay on with the Spirit when they head to the World Games following the Canada Cup.
Aussie Spirit Head Coach Laing Harrow said, “Liv is obviously excited about the opportunity to represent the Aussie Spirit, but she has worked hard in college and is ready to take her game to the next level. Just as importantly, she has a great attitude that will fit in with the culture of the team.”
Moe Kurihara will be added to the Spirit Development team as Kuzminski’s replacement.
Kurihara performed exceptionally well for Queensland at the recent Open Women and Under 23 Nationals, winning Grand Final MVP in the Under 23s, and her willingness to join the team at late notice and gain valuable international experience is testament to her enthusiasm and postive attitude.
Georgia Blair has withdrawn from the tour as she pursues a coaching opportunity with Loyola Marymount University.
