Softball Australia are on the hunt for Australia’s Future Green and Gold players, in the greatest Olympic and Paralympic talent search Australia has ever seen!
With the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics on the horizon, Softball Australia has partnered with the Australian Sports Commission's (ASC), Future Green and Gold Talent Identification Campaign.
The ASC has partnered with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), the Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia and state sporting institutes and academies across the country to facilitate the search. Together, they will be scouring the nation to uncover hidden talent and nurture Australia’s Future Green and Gold athletes.
Softball Australia is searching for young Australians aged 13+ to register and attend special testing days conducted by the ASC and AIS to assess their strengths and skills. Over the past 20 years, Australian talent search initiatives have identified sport stars who have gone on to have great success on the world stage.
The program is divided into 2 unique streams, Olympic athletes and Paralympic.
Individuals don’t need any prior sporting experience to take part, the talent search is designed to help guide individuals towards a sport they may be best suited to. The AIS are also looking for existing athletes with potential to transfer their talent to a different sport, for example, a cricketer might want to try their skills in softball!
The Australian Sports Commission have published a list of dates and venues around the country where the Talent ID sessions will be held, see the link below for more information and to register.
