Call for Applications - Australian Women's Coaching Panel

With the completion of the Olympic Games, Softball Australia is calling for expressions of interest to be part of the Australian Women's Coaching Panel for the next few years.

Opportunities for and expectations of those appointed to the Panel will include:

  • National team and program coaching appointments, including the following programs:
    • Travelodge Aussie Spirit international tours, domestic events and camps
    • Junior Spirit international tours, domestic events and camps
    • Summer Slam
    • International Friendship Series
    • Aussie Diamonds Pathway Program Tours
    • Other national squad programs and camps
  • Coaching involvement in Softball Australia’s Performance Training Centres;
  • Professional development through the exciting new soon-to-be-released HP Coaching Leadership Program;
  • Monthly meetings with the Panel, to help develop the national program;
  • Input into development of the national coaching curriculum;
  • Be part of the soon-to-be created Australian Coaching Panel, which will be a combination of the Men’s and Women’s National Coaching Panels.

Other benefits of the Coaching Panel program include:

  • Development of a greater number of potential elite women's coaches;
  • Opportunity to upskill and develop coaches in specific areas;
  • More nationally aligned Men’s and Women’s coaching panel, working within the performance training environment at state level to deliver nationally aligned training for athletes;
  • Greater levels of athlete monitoring and reporting and individual performance plan supervision and mentoring;
  • Succession planning in the appointment of national team Head Coaches.

To apply for the coaching panel, a minimum of ‘Performance Coach’ level of coaching accreditation is required, and the Position Application Form must be completed.

Appointments to the Australian Women’s Coaching Panel will be through to the date of 31 December 2023.

Persons interested in being considered for these positions are required to:

  • Submit a formal application using the Application Form, including member state endorsement
  • Include a copy of their resume
