Join the Australian Women’s Softball Coaching Team!
Softball Australia is seeking passionate and experienced coaches to join the Australian Women’s National Team they we continue their journey towards international success. We are currently recruiting for two key positions:
1. National Assistant CoachES – Australian Women’s Team
Contract: 12-month (honorarium)
Location: Flexible
The National Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in delivering elite coaching strategies that develop emerging talent into world-class competitors. This role involves working collaboratively with the coaching and performance teams to create and implement high-level training programs.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of team practice plans and game strategies.

Design and implement individual development programs.

Provide technical and tactical feedback to athletes.

Utilise video analysis and on-field observations to monitor player performance.
-
Actively participate in international tours, training camps, and selection events.
Selection Criteria:
-
Foundation Coach accreditation or equivalent (essential).

Experience coaching at state, national, or international levels.
-
Strong leadership and communication skills.
-
Ability to inspire and support athletes in a high-performance environment.
-
Working with Children Check (or equivalent) required.
2. Battery Coach – Australian Women’s Team
Contract: 12-month (honorarium)
Location: Flexible
The Battery Coach will play a critical role in developing world-class pitcher-catcher performances. This position focuses on enhancing technical skills, tactical awareness, and communication between pitchers and catchers to maximise defensive effectiveness. Working closely with the Head Coach and broader coaching team, the Battery Coach will be instrumental in preparing the team for international competition.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop specialised training programs for pitchers and catchers.

Analyse performance data to provide targeted feedback.

Integrate battery-specific strategies into the overall game plan.

Collaborate with coaching staff and performance personnel.

Attend and actively contribute to training camps, selection events, and international tours.
Selection Criteria:
-
Foundation Coach accreditation or equivalent (essential).

Experience coaching elite-level athletes.
-
Strong understanding of the tactical and technical demands of softball at the international level.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop athletes.
-
Working with Children Check (or equivalent) required.
