QLD 13 def NSW 8
QLD: 13R 11H 2E
NSW: 8R 10H 2E
Queensland lock in top spot with a strong finish against New South Wales.
It was NSW who were quickest out of the blocks, charging to a 3-0 lead in the first, and holding QLD to just a solitary run in the third.
The lead changed hands in the top of the fourth, with Riley James scoring Jeremy Waters on a double getting the four run inning started.
They took charge from there, holding NSW to one in the bottom of the inning and then outscoring them 8-4 in the final two.
Ashlee Goffer and Cameron White both scored 3RBIs, with Waters and Haydan Dobe bringing in two more RBIs each.

Game 16: VIC v NSW 1:30PM AEDT
NSW 7 def VIC 3
NSW: 7R 10H 0E
VIC: 3R 4H 2E
New South Wales survives a scare from Victoria, storming home in the eighth.
The hosts took an early lead thanks to Jye Robinson’s home run, and they held NSW scoreless until the fourth.
Hayden Shaw made it to base and then was scored by Jake Gleeson to end the fourth with a tied game.
The two teams continued their defensive showcase, containing the hitters until the game entered the tie-breaker eighth inning.
That’s when the errors started to creep in for VIC, as Jarred Garland took advantage of an error from the third baseman to come home, after scoring Klay Kilpatrick with his single.
With bases loaded, up stepped Boston Lowe to hit a second-ball grand slam home run well over the centre-field fence to make it six for the inning.
The hosts rallied to stop the bleeding at six and find the three outs to end the top of the eighth.
Robinson got the scoring started for VIC in the bottom of the eighth, with a stand-up-double that brought home the tie-breaker runner.
With an out already, and still five runs to chase, the VICs had their work cut out for them.
Floyd brought Robinson home on a sacrifice fly to right field, reducing the difference to four with one out left, but that was all the hosts could find in the inning.
Lowe’s gland slam homer and 11 strike outs from 7.33 innings pitched proved the difference for NSW.

Game 17: ACT v QLD 4:00PM AEDT
QLD 15 def ACT 1
QLD: 15R 10H 1E
ACT: 1R 0H 6E
Queensland finish strong against the ACT to score 12 in the last two innings and end the round robin with and 8-1 record.
The ACT took the lead in the bottom of the first, as Nathan Lynch capitalised on a fielding error.
They then put in the defensive work in the second, but couldn’t find a way to increase their lead.
In the third, QLD worked their way to load the bases, and Sheldon Waller’s double brought them all home.
It stayed 3-1 until the fifth, when QLD started to take control, and take advantage of a few errors from the ACT.
The trend continued in the sixth and QLD showed the depth of their batting line-up, scoring another eight. They backed it up to hold the ACT scoreless and trigger the runs-ahead-rule.

Game 18: ACT v VIC 6:30PM AEDT
ACT 8 def VIC 6
ACT: 8R 8H 0E
VIC: 6R 9H 6E
The ACT end day four with the win over Victoria in a tight battle – setting up what is sure to be an intense rematch in the first game of the finals.
Five runs in the opening inning set up the win early for the ACT, but the hosts never gave up the hunt. By the bottom of the fourth, they had worked their way back to 5-4, but the ACT found three more in the bottom of the inning to restore their buffer.
Cody Smith made sure to let the ACT know they wouldn’t have it without a fight, scoring a first-ball home run to open the fifth, and VIC found another in the sixth while holding firm on defence to give them just two to chase in the seventh.
The hosts couldn’t find the gaps in the field in the seventh, as both Marcus Ferraro and Luke Russell were caught.
David Dunstan did his best to keep VIC alive with two outs, but his 10-ball-duel with Brody Ridley fell the way of the ACT pitcher to end the game it in the top of the inning.
