Nox Bailey Shield / Under 19 Mens National Championship
Day 1 Schedule:

Game 21: NSW v QLD 9:00AM AWST

NSW 11 def QLD 10
NSW: 11R 10H 2E

New South Wales advanced to the Grand Final with a tiebreaker win over Queensland. After QLD struggled with injuries on day four, they made an unlikely recovery to bring the heat against the high-flying NSW team.

Ayden Champneys took a single to score Corie List and Kylan Pearce in the first to get things moving, and it was 4-2 heading into the fourth. QLD continued their strong start, scoring another four in the top of the fourth, but then the beast awoke. 8-2 at the change, NSW made the most of a few errors and worked their way not only back into the game, but to take a 10-8 lead after a mammoth eight-run effort in the fourth.

QLD found their reply in the seventh to tie the game, and followed it up with a clean defensive inning to take it to an eighth inning. The final play of the game, Ky Hurst hit a sacrifice fly to right field to being Lachlan Hort home and secure the Grand Final entry for NSW. Lachlan Hort’s 0.800 game a big help along the way, scoring after every hit.

And chase they did, keeping VIC from scoring in the next three, and scoring five themselves to reduce VIC’s lead to just three.
