Queensland clinch a five-inning comeback win against Western Australia. WA started strong with a four-run second inning, kicked off by a Codee-Leigh Garth single that scored. QLD started to get their eye in with three in the third – Sophia Matthews and Isabella Watson both with singles and scoring themselves. 4-5 heading into the fourth, QLD completed the comeback to score four, with Matthews’ double helping score two. QLD then held WA scoreless in the bottom of the fourth before stepping up to bring home 11 more in the fifth and set up the runs-ahead-rule at the close of the inning.

New South Wales extend their unbeaten run to nine as they score in four-straight innings against South Australia. The in-form team of the tournament got off to a hot start with five runs to SA’s one. Kate Luyten and Tanika Terkildsen combined for 6 RBIs from their 6 ABs, with Terkildsen ensuring NSW would score in every inning by stealing home in the third.

The ACT claim a crucial second win to keep their finals chances alive, handing Queensland their third loss in their final game of the round robin. QLD’s final record is still good enough to secure second place and that all-important second chance game tomorrow. Arwen Kavanagh scored 4 RBIs from 2 hits, while Georgia Benson and Juliana Himawari Takahashi combined to deliver another 5 RBIs.

Western Australia held on to secure a vital win over Victoria, cutting off a VIC comeback in the sixth that tied the game, to win by two. WA got out to a flying start with six in the first two innings to lead 6-1 by the end of the third. VIC then got their comeback underway, scoring three in the fourth and five in the sixth to make it 9-9 at the change. With the pressure mounting, Mia Belcastro and Taymin O’Conner both managed to score on WA errors in the bottom of the sixth, before holding VIC to just a scoreless single in the seventh.

South Australia fends off a late surge by the ACT to hold on to a two-run advantage and secure a vital win to keep their finals chances alive. Consistent with the bat, SA worked their way to a 6-0 lead by the middle of the fifth when the ACT began to claw their way back with three. SA replied with three of their own, before the ACT brought home four to end the sixth trailing by two. The ACT fielders took charge in the seventh, taking three straight outs to hand SA their only scoreless inning, but SA held their nerve and the two-run advantage intact to hold on for the win.

New South Wales secure a perfect record to finish in first place undefeated. Kate Luyten scored 3RBIs from 3ABs, alongside Talea Tonga’s 2RBIs in NSW’s 10-1 win in five innings. Markayla Butler took five strike outs from three innings and combined with Tayla Moore to limit Victoria to just one run from three hits and three walks. Victoria finished the day in finals, with just run difference deciding whether it will be third of fourth.

South Australia snagged the last spot in finals with a big finish in their five-inning win over Western Australia. Abbie Bastian combined with Mia Oats-Willis to score 6RBIs, while Olivia Durham pitched all five for SA, allowing just three hits and taking seven strike outs. SA finish in third place thanks to their run difference and will face Victoria for a chance to progress further tomorrow morning.

New South Wales keep the pressure on QLD and WA with their decisive 14-0 win over Victoria. Benjamin Hodsdon scored 3RBIs, while Xavier Lachat and Maikera Thompson-Tetana combined for another 4RBIs in a batting performance that was highlighted by a nine-run third inning. Carter Shears pitched four innings, allowing just two hits with six strike outs.

Victoria edge out Western Australia in seven-innings. They got off to a strong start, scoring four in the first three, allowing just the one for WA. But WA got right back in it with a three-run fourth, scoring on a couple of wild pitches and a Lachlan Godfrey bunt. With the score level at 4-4 and with two outs, Mitchell Crawford stepped up to hit a home run to centre-left, scoring Markus Ainslie and Jack Horman in the process to give VIC the edge. Noah Stevens-Togo and Ethan Scott both then hit homers in the sixth to set up a 10-6 advantage and the eventual win for Victoria.

New South Wales continue their scoring form in a four-inning win over the ACT. Blake Pus took seven strike outs and allowed two hits as NSW held ACT to just two runs. Pus also stepped up with the bat to claim 3RBIs alongside Jordan McSavaney and Lachlan O’Sullivan.

Queensland finish the round robin with a decisive 15-6 win over second placed New South Wales. The result opened the door for Western Australia to pinch second place, if they could pull off a big win against South Australia on the other diamond. QLD set out to make a statement early on, as Thomas McCarroll hit a home run on the third ball of the game. But NSW kept it at just the one run from the first. It was in the second that QLD began to stretch their batting legs, scoring five to make it 6-3 after two innings. Their batting form continued, scoring another three in the third and six in the fourth to set up a runs-ahead-rule victory in the fifth.

Western Australia wrapped up their round robin with a win over South Australia. They finish in third place behind NSW – with an equal record, split by run difference. The opening inning set the tone for the game and had SA on the backfoot right from the start. Tyson Buswell got the scoring underway for WA, taking advantage of a wild pitch by the SA pitcher, and WA just kept the foot to the floor, scoring seven more. SA were able to limit the damage and began the difficult task of trying to reel in WA’s early advantage, taking the game to the sixth inning before the runs-ahead-rule was triggered.

Victoria took the final win of the round robin in five innings, leaving the ACT winless for the Arthur Allsopp Shield campaign. Ethan Scott and Dylan Evans both scored 3RBIs, with numerous others snagging 2RBIs in an 18-hit performance by the VIC batters. Jake Slater and Josh Dart both managed 2RBIs for the ACT, who were fighting right to the end. Bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, and with one already on the board, a home run would have been just enough to keep them in the fight for another inning, but the hosts held firm to deny the comeback.
