New South Wales have opened the day to take two straight wins against Queensland in a tightly contested game. The close win has given NSW a buffer over their closest rivals for top spot, leaving the potential of an undefeated tournament still on the cards. It took to the bottom of the fifth for NSW to find an edge, after the opening inning’s 1-1. QLD did manage to reply with two in the seventh but fell one-short.

The ACT were denied their second win of the tournament thanks to a big comeback from Western Australia. Two in the first, two in the second, and out to an 8-0 lead by the top of the fourth, the ACT looked poised to bring it home. WA had other plans, scoring seven in the fourth and nine in the fifth to take the win on via the runs-ahead-rule. Dennille Walenzyk got the comeback in motion for WA, scoring Hayley Swift with a single, while Ashley Popp bagged 3 RBIs in a line-up that saw all bar one of WA’s batters find their way home.

Victoria have secured a tight 4-3 win over South Australia. Tahuna Rhind-Luke - a name that should be familiar to those who followed the U18 Women’s National Championships in WA -scored 2 RBIs and pitched 7.0 innings taking four strike outs. While Rachel Steendam also scored 2 RBIs for VIC.

New South Wales continue to build and keep their perfect record intact with their win over Western Australia. Renee Coubrough scored 3 RBIs while Tayla Moore and Markayla Butler combined to pitch three strike outs and allow just one hit and one run from the three innings.

Rhiannon Smith and Isabella Watson combine to score 6 RBIs in Queensland’s 16-5 win over Victoria. Getting out to a 6-0 lead from the first two innings, VIC hit a five-run reply in the bottom of the second to keep it a close game. That is, until QLD set alight in the Melbourne heat, bringing 10 home in the third.

Three Queenslanders had multi-RBI games in a dominant display over South Australia. The Maroons scored in four of the six innings, backed up with pitching from Bridie Nicol and Alisha Harris.

It was a case of contrasting results for the NSW and ACT: NSW hit well and made no errors, while the ACT committed six errors and couldn't get a hit. Maddi Durnell went 2-2 with 3RBI while with the ball Markayla Butler and Charlize Applitt shared seven strikeouts.

A dramatic game saw the ACT score three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie it up, only for Victoria to add three runs of their own in the extra inning. Tahuna Rhind-Luke pitched the last five innings for ten strikeouts to go with her two hits and two RBIs. Violet Green tripled twice and Lily McKenner scored a clutch 2RBI double in the extra inning to propel the Vics to the win.

South Australia scored 17 in the fourth to secure their second win of the tournament in a 22-8 win over the ACT. Heading into the fourth, the scores were level at 5-5, thanks to the ACT’s opening five-run inning, and SA’s comeback, but an explosive final inning for SA gave the ACT a tally too difficult to chase. Thomas Wood scored 4 RBIs from 3 ABs in a batting effort that saw every member of the line-up cross home plate.

Western Australia have rebounded from their loss to QLD with an emphatic opening inning to set up their 17-2 win over the ACT. 12 runs in the first, including a home run each to Cody Embrey and Riley Cooper, gave the ACT their second blowout inning to chase on the day. WA held firm, allowing just two hits to trigger the runs-ahead-rule at the end of the third inning.

New South Wales secure their fifth win of the tournament in a no-hitter against South Australia, to stay in touch with QLD in the standings. Noah Powell and Blaze Pus combined for the no-hitter, allowing just one walk in the four-inning game. Powell also grabbed 3 RBIs with the bat to add to the complete performance for NSW.

Western Australia hand New South Wales their second loss of the tournament, taking second place and ensuring the battle for top-two will head to the final day. The score was 1-3 as they began the sixth, but WA managed to score three in the sixth, limit NSW in their reply to just two, before Riley Cooper stepped up to hit a game-winning home run in the seventh, scoring Seth Lorimer.

Victoria bounce back from a big loss to QLD by taking an important win over South Australia. 6-2 heading into the fifth, Markus Ainslie stepped up to the plate to hit a homer, the start of an eight-run inning to help wrap up the game in the fifth. Damian Hill scored 4 RBIs from 3 ABs, including a triple in the fifth that scored two.
