Victoria's Kasey Smith and Karri Pritchard combined for 6RBI from their three hits and Teraize Bonner put together four innings of one-run ball to keep the ACT at bay in game 1 of the National Championships. Pritchard went 3-4 including an inside-the-park Home Run at the top of the sixth.

Defending champions Queensland took care of Western Australia, scoring nine runs from 12 hits. Five of their runs came at the top of the seventh inning.

Game 3: ETB (East Texas Baptist University) v SA 12:30PM ACDT

A five-run third inning for the East Texas Baptist team was enough to overcome South Australia. The host-team took a 4-3 run lead into the bottom of the third, only to be shut out by Ashley Croft for the remainder of the game.

New South Wales were too strong at bat for Western Australia, with six different run scorers across three-scoring innings. Chelsea Bennett and Sophie O’Conner combined in the center for seven strike-outs and three hits.

Game 5: NSW v ACT 3:00PM ACDT

The Australia Capital Territory looked up for a close battle as they took a 5-3 lead at the top of the fourth, but a six-run haul shifted the momentum rapidly in favour of New South Wales. Nine unanswered runs through two innings triggered the mercy rule in the fifth to see NSW take back-to-back wins.

Queensland bounce back to overcome six-run deficit and score 13 unanswered runs to end the game at the bottom of the sixth, headlined by Savannah Ritter’s 5RBI from 4 at bats.

Victoria proved too strong for Western Australia, scoring in four straight innings to take their second win for the day. Karri Pritchard entertained, hitting an in the park homerun to score Brodie Hendy in the bottom of the third.

A fast start from South Australia set the tone against Victoria, scoring in five out of six innings to eventually end the game in the bottom of the sixth.

Homeruns from Tayla Evans (scoring Soraya Hamson) and Hannah Leggett (scoring Jessica Rohde) were just a few of the highlights from a high-scoring Queensland win over the ACT. An eight-run first inning helped give QLD an early win at the top of the fourth inning, completing a sweep of the day to sit firmly in first place in the standings.
