QLD 9 def SA 2
QLD: 9R 10H 4E
SA: 2R 6H 2E

South Australia held QLD to no score in the second, and found their opener thanks to Kelly O'Brien's single to score Kate Adamson.
But the strong start for QLD made SA's recovery quite the challenge. Two in the third, one in the fifth and two more in the sixth without any reply from SA meant that the runs-ahead-rule was in play.
Tahlia Larosa found her way over the home plate to give SA a chance at a late comeback, but they couldn't find the all important third run and the game ended in the sixth.

Game 5: QLD v NSW 7:00PM AEST
NSW 11 def QLD 10
NSW: 11R 9H 2E
QLD: 10R 9H 7E
New South Wales hold on to an eight-inning thriller to end day one at the Over 35 National Championships.
It was a very close encounter through much of the game. NSW found their way to a 3-0 lead by the middle of the second, but QLD clawed two back by the bottom of the fourth.
David Metekingi scored a third for QLD, bringing Luke VanDeGriendt home on a single to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth.
And then the seventh inning happened.
The gameplan for NSW appeared to be to play it slow and work their way to the lead.
Marcus Solylo made it on base with an infield single - Dale Smith advanced Solylo to second with a sacrifice bunt - Demetrius Doney was given permission to chase and on a 2-2 count managed to find his way to first on an error while allowing Solylo to advance to third.
The plan in play then brought to fruition by Glenn Lynch, who found a first pitch single to score Solylo. Now they can sit on the one-run-lead they worked hard for and bank the win, right?
Wrong. Five more runs in the seventh and it's 9-3. That's the ballga..... Wrong again!
Queensland were inspired by the scoring display of the hosts and worked their way level with an out to spare. John Nash with the chance to clinch an epic comeback win for QLD, but instead is ground out and they head to an eighth.
We'll keep the ending short - NSW scored their tie-break runner plus one to give QLD two to chase, and chase they did.
William Bailey scored John Nash (tie-break runner) to make it 11-10 before Luke VanDeGriendt's finaly roll of the dice came but a foot away from forcing a ninth-inning. With Scott Watson on third after a lovely triple deep to left field, and a full count, VanDeGrindt managed an infield hit and put on the afterburners, only to be beaten by the infield by no more than a pace.
