Softball Australia announces its new Integrity Manager

Published Mon 09 Oct 2023

In partnership with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), Softball Australia welcomes Elke Bellgrove as its Integrity Manager.

The position, which commenced in early September for a 12-month period, was made possible through the Australian Sports Commission’s National Integrity Capability Enhancement Program, of which Softball Australia was a successful applicant. This is a shared role with Bowls Australia where Elke will be working with Softball Australia for two days per week while the remainder of her allotment will be at Bowls Australia.

Bellgrove comes to Softball Australia with operational roles at the Australian Cricket Board (now Cricket Australia), the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and most recently at the Office of the Racing Integrity Commissioner. With a Masters degree in Sport Business & Integrity, Bellgrove brings significant experience and understanding of the integrity space.

Softball Australia Chief Executive Officer Sarah Loh thanked the ASC for their support in the process. "We're glad to have someone of Elke's experience working within our community to ensure that important issues like safeguarding, member protection are handled with the utmost care. When we signed onto the National Integrity Framework, we made a commitment to our members to ensure that all our athletes, officials, supporters and fans can celebrate softball, knowing they are a part of a safe, ethical and inclusive environment. Thanks to the Australian Sports Commission and Bowls Australia we're able to make sure that we're providing appropriate support in such a pivotal area."
