2022 National Championships – Player Draft Extended

Softball Australia would like to advise that the deadline for the 2022 National Championships Player Draft has been extended until Friday, the 4th of March.

The extension will allow more time for states to complete their selection process, and gives time to those players who are not selected to seek endorsement from their home state and apply to enter the draft.

The player draft ensures a fair distribution of key players who are on the fringe of selection, or who are unable to attend the Nationals because their home state is not participating.

Undrafted players will be placed in a pool list. Players in the pool list may still be selected by a state up until two weeks prior to the beginning of the Event.

The draft is open to all players from Under 14s to Open age. There will be a separate draft process for the Over-35s, as it is being held later in the year.
