Softball Australia are pleased to release preliminary details of the Aussie Spirit, Spirit Development, and Under 18 Aussie Diamonds tour for the Canada Cup later this year.

The Aussie Diamonds Development Tours provide emerging softballers aged 12 to 19 with an insight into what to expect at the elite level, and in June an Aussie Diamonds Under 18 team will head to Canada with the Aussie Spirit and a Spirit Development team, to compete at the Canada Cup Futures Tournament from June 20-26.

More detail will follow for the Aussie Spirit and Spirit Development teams closer to the Open Women’s and U23 Women’s National Event.

Squads are initially selected following the 2022 National Championships, with a rapid turnaround from event, selection, acceptance of selection, and tour departure date.

Aussie Diamonds are selected from the Under 18 and Under 16 National Championships, while Aussie Spirit and Spirit Development players are selected from the Open Women, Under 23 Women, and available College players.

Under 18 Aussie Diamonds Tour Selection Timeline:

• Under 18 National Championships: 14-17 April

• Under 16 National Championships: 21-24 April

• Squad Formally Announced: 30 April

• Tour Departs: 16 June

U18 Aussie Diamonds Canada Cup Futures Tournament Information: Vancouver, Canada

• $2800 player levy+ uniform kit

• Return international flights to Vancouver (depart 16th – return 29th June)
