Softball Australia are pleased to announce the 2021 Travelodge Aussie Spirit squad aiming for selection in the final team to compete in the rescheduled Tokyo Olympic Games later this year.
The squad remains largely similar to 2020’s group who have shown an incredible amount of commitment and resilience after the sport’s 12 year wait to return to the Olympics became 13.
Players across the country have remained focused on their preparations both individually and within their relevant state programs to ensure they are as prepared as possible under the circumstances for a tilt at a fifth Olympic medal.
New faces to the squad Georgia Hood (SA) and Bree Trim (Vic) will join the squad for the first time. The entire group will come together for the first time at the Australian Institute of Sport for a squad camp from 18 February – 7 March.
Due to various COVID restrictions, Softball Australia has cancelled the upcoming National Selection Camp, electing to host the 2021 Travelodge Aussie Spirit Training Camp in its place.
Softball Australia remains committed to working with identified players and will continue to assist with their development by providing ongoing High Performance support as future representatives of Australia.
