Umpiring New Rules’ Platform now available

Published Tue 10 Aug 2021

After searching and testing a suitable platform the move away from Course Sites is now complete and the National Umpiring Committee can confirm the new rules portal for the Basic and Open Rules Assessment is now ready for use.

The Basic Rules Assessment is accessible all year round and we would encourage more players and coaches to complete the online assessment to gain a better understanding of the basic rules.

Practice assessments are available for those wanting to test their knowledge and these can also be used in preparation for the Open Rules Assessment, which is only available for approximately 10 days ach year in a set assessment period.

Accessing the platform

Access

  • The introduction of the new platform also provides a simpler process allowing the user i.e., umpire, scorer, player, coach, admin, or anyone interested in testing their rules knowledge or gaining accreditation instant access to the platform. They will not need to register and wait for someone to forward an invite to them.

Quick Reference Guide

  • A quick reference guide has been set up for users to assist in providing step by step instructions on how to access the platform. In the coming week, videos will be provided to the community via our website and social media platforms to further assist members.

The Softball Australia Rules Assessment page has been updated with all the relevant information.
