On behalf of Softball WA and the community of Western Australia I would like to formally welcome you to Perth. We are excited to be hosting the 2025 Esther Deason and Arthur Allsopp Shields for the Under 16 Girls and Boys Australian Softball Championships at Mirrabooka International Softball Stadium.
Softball WA is excited to host the Under 16 tournaments as these athletes will be those vying for the Olympic Games in LA in 2028 and then Brisbane 2032. This age group is commencement of the true journey of the young athlete as it is their first chance to truly represent their state having previously come from Regional Championships. We are truly excited to be able to host these young athletes, family and friends in our great state of Western Australia.
Without volunteers this event would not happen. In Western Australia we are lucky enough to have an experienced team of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure events like this run smoothly. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their ongoing commitment, dedication and support to Softball in Western Australia.
Finally, I would like to welcome the athletes, families, friends, coaches, managers, support staff, statisticians and umpires coming to Perth and participating in this amazing and inspiring week of softball. Please ensure you are prepared for the very hot days and the bitterly cold nights at Mirrabooka which tend to show up in January. I wish you all the best of luck, play fair, play safe and most importantly, have fun.
