Softball Australia is pleased to today announce the 2023 Australian Men’s Under-23 Team that will compete in the Inaugural WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup to be held in Argentina in April this year.
The 16-man roster, as well as six athletes on stand-by, has been selected by national selectors based on their performances at the 2023 Open Men's and Under 23 Men's National Championships. They will join 11 of the best young softball teams from around the globe, at Nafaldo Cargnel Stadium in Parana, Argentina, from 15-23 April 2023.
"We are really pleased with the team selected and I am confident that under David Metekingi and his coaching, the guys will do well,” said Softball Australia CEO, Rosie Williams OBE. "We are looking forward to watching them represent Australia on the world stage.”

Australia heads to Argentina on the back of an historic Steelers’ win at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championships in December 2022, and the Under-23 Men's National Team is eager to continue that momentum in Argentina.
Under the guidance of experienced Head Coach David Metekingi, the team will begin preparations in their home states before coming together in early April.
"I'm excited to be taking such a talent-rich team to the inaugural Under-23 Men’s World Cup," said Metekingi. "This team has the potential to make a big impact on the international stage, and I'm looking forward to seeing them perform at their best in Argentina."
